The Radioactive Material and Machines Capable of Producing Ionizing Radiation Policy establishes requirements for conducting activities involving sources of ionizing radiation in compliance with Nuclear Regulatory Commission and Department of Environmental Protection requirements. It defines approval requirements by the Radiation Safety Officer and procedures established by the Radiation Safety Committee for the purchase, possession, use, transfer, or disposal of such sources.
