Despite inclement weather, Lehigh University rarely interrupts scheduled operations, meaning staff should assume the University is open and they are expected to report. If delayed or absent, employees must notify their supervisor. Nonexempt staff must use leave or make up lost time. Only in rare, extremely severe cases, decided by the Provost or President, are operations curtailed. In such events, only Essential Services Staff are required to report; others are either dismissed or record their time as a "University Authorized Absence."
